The Sunbeam is a reclamation of space.

 

How many households belonging to the historically marginalized were broken, fragmented, and divided just so the privileged could obtain their own? The Sunbeam endeavors to provide affordable, sustainable communal housing for struggling communities.

  1. The privileged benefit at the expense of the historically oppressed. Generic single-family suburban houses (symbols of the "American Dream") sit atop the fragmented remains of countless marginalized families and homes.

  2. A shift in power. Black communities take action, analyzing and transforming the typical American living space to more readily suit disadvantaged communities.
